Owners of Asheville’s Fun Depot Purchase
The Old Quality Inn & Suites Off I-26 In Hendersonville (Sugarloaf Road)
WHAT: The owners of Asheville’s Fun Depot have purchased the old Quality Inn & Suites In Hendersonville, and construction has already begun on what will be called: The Cascades Mountain Resort. The building will be completely renovated, and many new improvements will be made. The property will be designed to reflect the beauty of Western North Carolina, and will feature indoor and outdoor water-features—including a waterfall—and beautiful greenery. The indoor pool will be updated to include a water slide and a kids water area, as well as an oversized—and secluded—hot tub for adults. The Cascades will also house a café where guests can enjoy pizza, ice-cream and more on an outdoor slate-patio near a fire-pit. During the research phase of this project, David and Marybeth heard numerous stories about the positive memories people had in the old building. It became clear that at one time, this hotel was something Hendersonville was proud of. As a result, they are excited to make it into something that the people of Western North Carolina are proud of again. They are excited to see families and friends making new positive memories in a premier resort that economically benefits the community.
WHO: The owners of Asheville’s Fun Depot, David and Marybeth Day, love Western North Carolina, and share the cultural vision of taking what was run-down and making it into something new. David and Marybeth Day raised their four kids in the area, and are always looking for ways to improve the community. The Cascades is the next step in their vision to impact lives in Western North Carolina in a positive manner.
BENEFITS TO HENDERSONVILLE: The Cascades will benefit the community by creating jobs, supporting local artisans, and bringing new business to Hendersonville and Western North Carolina. The hotel will look completely new, and will be aesthetically pleasing. The intersection of I-26 and Highway 64 is an important exit for the Hendersonville community, and The Cascades will help present tourists and locals with the professionalism and aesthetics that make Western North Carolina a popular tourist destination.
WHEN: Opens in October WHERE: 201 Sugarloaf Rd. Hendersonville, NC 28792
